Jack Alfred Willmott's biography. This is an extensive piece of work by HAW Lead Historian Paul Johnson. Jack was born in Ashwell, Hertfordshire in 1895. He enlisted in 1915 and some troubled time while training. He was in the latter stages of the Battle of the Somme, in the Battle of the Ancre and Passchendaele. He took part in the most disastrous day in the Hertfordshire Regiment's history - 31st July 1917 - and does as a result.
