William (Bill) Taylor - researched and written by Dave Taylor. Born on 18th December 1891 in Hertford to a working class family. Bill was one of eight children born to Mr & Mrs Taylor. He joined the Hertfordshire Regiment Territorials prior to the outbreak of war and served with them during the war. Bill survived the war despite being wounded three times, with one particularly close call.
