Frank Young VC - researched and written by Dan Hill. Frank was the son of Frank and Sarah Ellen Young and was born in the 2nd October 1895 in Cherat, British India. They returned to England for his schooling and later he joined the Hitchin (‘D’ Company) of the Hertfordshire Territorials. He was later commissioned and, unusually returned as an Officer to the Hertfordshire Regiment and was awarded the VC for his actions.
