‘TO THE END OF THE WESTERN FRONT’
20th to 24th APRIL 2026
It may be a 2026 date, but the tour is half a typical brochure price, if you delay reading the following and acting, you will miss out! See notes on 19th May 2025 deadline.
For this trip, and following other successful collaborations, we will be joining forces again with our good friends, the Hertfordshire Constabulary Great War Society. We toured with them in 2023 and are doing so again in 2025, plus many of us have travelled with them as individuals and friends, and their members often attend our talks.
This tour will be a 4 night, 5 day trip via Verdun and the Americans at St Miheil, including visits to the amazing battlefield bunkers and trenches of the Vosges mountains and the very end of the Western Front at the Swiss border.
We will visit Hartsmannswillerkopf, Pfetterhouse, the Swiss border and see the demarcation stone for the end of the Western Front. We will tour the Le Linge battlefield and examine the cruel mine warfare of 1914/15 at Les Eparges.
We are sure this will be a great trip and we hope that you can join us. - PASSPORTS: Since BREXIT the dates of passports used in Europe have become much more important and so you will need to ensure that the passport you hold at the time of travel is:
- Current
- Must have been issued after 21/4/2016
- Must not expire before 25/7/2026
- INSURANCE: You must note that it is a condition of travel that you have valid travel insurance covering the period of travel. HAW strongly recommend that you ensure that your cover not only meets the trip requirements, but also your personal requirements, covers any non-refundable costs - should you decide to cancel for any reason, and repatriation - should that be necessary through illness or injury etc.
- GLOBAL HEALTH INSURANCE CARD (GHIC): This should also be obtained but is not a substitute for travel insurance. It is free to apply for and lasts for 5 years. Apply through the NHS website (Information HERE), (Apply HERE).
Referencing Terms and Conditions (see the links above):
Price Change: both organisations will do all that we can to avoid price increases, but if other parties, e.g. the hotel or ferry increase their costs to us, we may need to pass them on.
