Currently we have insufficient information to positively identify this soldier. The St Albans Cathedral Diocese records give his name as Walter Edward Cox, suggests a connection to Hemel Hempstead and that he was a Private in the Bedfordshire Regiment.
More research is required but, as we have yet to find a man of this name, perhaps it is possible that he is actually Edwin Walter Cox who does appears on the Hemel Hempstead memorial.
