*1 On the St Albans memorials there are several variations of the name A Izzard, i.e. ‘A Izzard’ appears on the Citizen’s memorial and the St Saviours memorials, ‘A A Izzard’/’Arthur Albert Izzard’ appears on the Citizen’s memorial and Town hall Memorial as does ‘A W Izzard’/’Alfred William Izzard’. By comparing database records and service numbers and assuming the initials recorded to be right we have identified the 'A A' and 'A W' Izzards. However this man, appear on the Citizens memorail has yet to be identified and he could also be the man the St Saviours memorials.
