St Matthew’s Church Memorial, Oxhey(*1)

There are two G Fields listed on the external St Matthew's Church memorial, but only one on its internal memorial and only one on the Wesleyan Methodist (now Bushey & Oxhey) Church memorials. So far only one, Private 1122, George Field has been identified (see his biography for full details) and we presume that he is commemorated on all the Oxhey memorials where the name appears. It is possible that this man, the second G Field, is an error or that indeed there is another man, yet to be identified. If it is the latter, then of course some of the memorial commemorations refer to this man and not Private 1122, George Field, in which case this man be commemorated on more Oxhey memorials.
