Violet was the daughter of Mrs Clarke of Benslow Lodge, Hitchin and she died in Hitchin Hospital  in June 1918. Local paper reported her death “Her death was not the result of an enemy shell or bullet; she died of injuries she sustained in a Letchworth munition factory while doing her bit to win the war.!


She may have been Violet Rosa Emily Clarke who was born in Sandon, however do far we have not been able to confirm this.
