Biography

He was born in Hertfordshire and was residing in the county when he enlisted. His Service Number was T/14301354. The circumstances of his death have not been discovered. 


He was buried in Plot 13, Row D, Grave 9 in the Bari War Cemetery in Italy. A private inscription on his headstone reads "THE LORD SENT HIM TO CHEER OUR WAY THE LORD KNEW BEST WHEN TO TAKE HIM AWAY. IN OUR HEARTS HE IS NEAR".


He was the son of Olive Blanche Wilshere of Hitchin and the grandson of :Mr and Mrs A.E. Wilshere of Hitchin.
