Biography

He was born in Hertfordshire and was resident in the county at the time of his enlistment. His Service Number was 1649802 and he was in the 99th Anti-Aircraft Regiment. He was killed in an accident when he and several others were thrown from an army truck. 


He is buried in Plot la, Row D, Grave 14 in Hamburg War Cemetery in Ohlsdorf, Germany. A private inscription on the headstone reads "I have a journey sir, shortly to go, my master calls me, I must not say no" . 


He was the son of Charles and Lilley Trussell of Hitchin.
