Biography
His Service Number was 60799 and he was serving in 221 Squadron at the time of his death. The Squadron was flying Wellington bombers from Luqa on Malta.
He has no known grave, but is remembered on Panel 6, Column l of the King's Gate Memorial to the Missing at Floriana, Valletta in Malta.
He was the son of Richard and Margaret Sanford of Hitchin.
