Biography

His Service Number was 776091 and he served with 500 Squadron which, at the time of his death, was flying Hudson Vs based at Limvady near Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Hudsons were much used to protect the convoys and to scour the ocean for U-Boats. 


He has no known grave and is remembered on Panel 75 of the Runnymede Memorial to the Missing at Egham in Surrey. 


He was the son of Alfred William and Ethel Maud Pitkin of Hitchin.
