Biography

His Service Number was 905761 and at the time of his death he was attached to 148 Squadron. The Squadron was based at Landing Ground LG 104 about sixty miles east of Mersah Matruh in Egypt and was flying Wellington II bombers. 


He is remembered on the Special Memorial ‘C’, Plot 3, Row B, Grave 8 in the Benghazi War Cemetery in Libya. The headstone is inscribed "Buried near this spot" and there is a private inscription "Time comes time passes loving thoughts of thee are everlasting" . 


He was the son of Ernest Victor and Annie Palmer of Hitchin.
