Biography

He was born in Grimsby and at the time he enlisted was resident in Somerset. His Service Number was 5671913 and he was in the 1st Battalion of the Regiment which, at the time of his death, was attached to the 114th Indian Infantry Brigade fighting in Burma.


He was buried in Plot 8, Row F, Grave 4 in the Kirkee War Cemetery in India which suggests that he either died of wounds or from illness. A private inscription on the headstone reads "Distance matters little if we have faith".


He was the son of Harry Dive Perrett and Kathleen Elsie Daly of Hitchin.
