Born 14 Apr 1879 and baptised on 7 Jun 1879 in Murree, Bengal, India son of Maj Frederick Compton and Ann Augusta Howard. In 1891 he was living in the Isle of Wight.
Educated at Haileybury College 1892-96. He married Elsie Anne Clarkson in 1914 in Scarborough, Yorkshire and had six children.
Wartime Service
Served in the Yorkshire Regiment but survived WW1. He died in Scarborough in 1962 aged 82.
