Son of John and Sarah Ann (nee ANDSCOMB) WATTS.
His parent’s marriage is proving elusive. John died 1922 in Watford aged 74, and was buried 28 July in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Sarah died 1935 in Watford aged 86, and was buried 21 November, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
Alfred was born 1886 in Chelsea, London.
He has an entry in the National Probate Calendar.
On the 1891 Census, aged 4 he lived in Chelsea, with his parents and two siblings. On the 1901 Census, aged 14 he lived in Fulham, London, with his parents and one sibling. On the 1911 Census, a first footman aged 24, he lived in Cowlinge, Suffolk.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford, and was formerly Private 26809 Bedfordshire Regiment.
He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Alfred’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
