Pre War

Son of the late Henry William and Jane Louisa (nee TUCKWELL) TIMSON; nephew of Elizabeth Jane TUCKWELL of Richmond.

His parents married 11 May 1874 at St James the Great, Bethnal Green, London.  Henry died 1909 aged 68; Jane died 1903 aged 51; both in the Richmond district.

George was born 1896 in Richmond.

On the 1901 Census, aged 4 he lived in Richmond with his parents and five siblings.  On the 1911 Census, an errand boy aged 14, he still lived in Richmond.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Richmond, Surrey; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 1 June 1915, and died of wounds received in action.

Additional Information

Unfortunately, George’s Service record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
