Son of Louise (nee THOMPSON) TIMPSON of Eltham, London, and the late George TIMPSON.
His parents married 11 August 1856 at St Thomas’, Woolwich, London. George died 1908 in the Lewisham, London, district aged 78; Louisa died 1920 in the Croydon, Surrey, district aged 86.
Albert was born 1877 in Eltham, and baptised 9 September 1877 at St John the Baptist, Eltham. He resided in Watford.
On the 1881 Census, aged 3 [name recorded as SIMPSON] he lived in Eltham, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1891 Census, aged 12 he still lived in Eltham, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1901 Census, a pianoforte tuner aged 22, he was a boarder in Watford. On the 1911 Census, still a pianoforte tuner, aged 33, he was still a boarder in Watford.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Bedford, and was formerly Private 6509 Bedfordshire Regiment. He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died at Mont Dare Military Hospital, Bournemouth. He also served in Egypt.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Albert’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
