Son of Rudolph and Kate (nee BRANSON or WATTLER) SCHULTZ.

His parents married 1892 in the Bethnal Green, London, district.  Rudolph died 21 July 1921 in Hillingdon, Middx, aged 77.  Kate remarried 1922 in the Hammersmith, London, district to Alfred H SEARLE, and possibly died 1943 in the Liverpool, Lancs, district aged 77.

Reuben was born 25 March 1897 in Kensington, London, and baptised 25 May 1897 at St Mark’s, Notting Hill, London.  He resided in Southall, Middx.

On the 1901 Census, aged 4 he lived in Kensington, with his parents and four siblings.  On the 1911 Census, aged 15 he lived in Southall, with his parents and four siblings.


Officially recorded as born in Kensington, Middlx. and was living in Southall when he enlisted in Ealing.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Ealing, Middx, was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 29 December 1915, and was killed in action.

*1 We have not found a connection to Watford, but this does seem to be the most likely candidate for the man appears on Christ Church Memorial.
