Son of Henry (Harry) and Elizabeth (nee WELLS) SEARS; husband of Louisa (nee PUGH) SEARS.
His parents married 21 September 1878 at St Mary’s, Redbourn, Herts. Henry died 1934 in Watford aged 77, and was buried 7 September in North Watford Cemetery; Elizabeth died 1934 in Watford aged 77, and was buried 17 December, also in North Watford Cemetery.
Henry was born 10 March 1891 in Church End, Redbourn, and attended first Callow Land Infants’ School, Watford; then Callowland Board School from 10 January 1898 to 24 March 1905. He married 1914 in the Watford district, and resided in Southfields, Middx.
On the 1891 Census, aged one month he lived in Redbourn, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1901 Census, aged 10 he lived in Watford, with his parents and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, a railway bookstall clerk aged 20, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and five siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Bletchley, Bucks; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Henry’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
