Son of the late David and Elizabeth (nee MOODY) SAUNDERS.
His parents married 1892 in the Watford district. Elizabeth died 1907 aged 35; David died 1913 aged 51; both in the Watford district.
James was born 5 November 1899 in Watford. He died at The Infirmary, Watford, following an operation, and was buried 1 April.
On the 1901 Census, aged 1 he lived in Watford, with his parents and six siblings. On the 1911 Census, he was an inmate of the Watford Union Homes, with one sibling.
Wartime Service
He enlisted 5 November 1917 as Boy II Class for 12 years’ service.
