Son of Edward and Mary (nee TARRY) PRITCHARD; husband of Eva Ethel (nee WHITE) PRITCHARD.
His parents married 14 April 1873 at St Augustine’s, Paddington, London. Mary died 1924 in Bushey, Herts, aged 76, and was buried 21 January at St James’, Bushey; Edward died 1926 in Watford aged 93, and was buried 29 December, also at St James.
George was born 7 May 1889 in Bushey, and baptised 20 September 1889 at St James’, Bushey. He married 1911 in the Watford district; they had two children. Eva remarried 18 June 1921 at St Mary’s, Summerstown, London, to John BIGGS; and died 21 April 1966 in Poole, Dorset aged 79.
On the 1891 Census, aged 2 he lived in Bushey, with his parents and eight siblings. On the 1901 Census, aged 11 he still lived in Bushey, with his parents and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, a general labourer aged 22, he still lived in Bushey, with his parents and two siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died at 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station of wounds received in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, George’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the world War Two bombing.
