Son of William and Florence (nee PERRY) MCFARLANE.

A William MACFARLANE and Flora PERRY married 1887 in the St George Hanover Square, London, district.

William was born 1890 in Paddington, London, or Old Ford, Middx, and baptised 15 October 1890 at Holy Trinity, Paddington.

On the 1891 Census, aged 1 he lived in Paddington, with his mother and one sibling.  On the 1901 Census, aged 10 he lived in King’s Langley, Herts, with his parents and one sibling.  On the 1911 Census, an apprentice compositor aged 20, he lived in Watford, with his parents and no siblings.


Officially recorded as born in Old Ford, Middlesex and enlisting in Chelsea.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Chelsea, London; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 11 August 1915, and was killed in action.  

Additional Information

Unfortunately, William’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
