Son of Edward and Sarah Ann (nee HARRIS) FARREN; brother of E FARREN of Watford.
His parents married 25 June 1877 at All Saints, Leavesden, Herts. Sarah died 1915 in Watford aged 56, and was buried 2 December in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford.
Sidney was born 16 March 1888 in Watford, and baptised 15 April 1888 at St Mary’s, Watford. He attended first Beechen Grove Infants’ School, Watford; then Beechen Grove Board School from 23 January 1895 to 25 January 1901. He was appointed Postman Watford October 1911
He has an entry in the National Probate Calendar.
On the 1891 Census, aged 3 he lived in Watford, with his parents and four siblings. On the 1901 Census, a draper’s assistant aged 13, he still lived in Watford, with his mother and six siblings. On the 1911 Census, a postman aged 23, he still lived in Watford, in the household of his sister and brother-in-law Harry and Edith RIDDELL.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in London, and was formerly 6879 Lancers. He was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 30 June 1915, and was presumed dead, killed in action.

Possibly re-numbered to 1136696? Unfortunately, Sidney’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
