There is a Death announcement for Edward in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 18 March 1916; plus In Memoriams in the issues dated 3 March 1917, 2 March 1918 and 8 March 1919.
Son of Edward James and Frances Elizabeth (nee TOMBLIN) CAVE of Watford.
His parents married 20 July 1887 at St Matthew’s, Oxhey, Herts, Edward died 1934 in Watford aged 73, and was buried 1 March in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Frances died 1938 in Watford aged 77, and was buried 23 February, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
Edward was born 29 October 1891 in Watford, and baptised 22 May 1892 at St Matthew’s, Oxhey. He resided in Watford, and was employed by Messrs Trewins.
On the 1901 Census, aged 9 he lived in Watford, with his parents and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, he is proving elusive.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in London, and was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 6 March 1915.
He suffered from gas poisoning, and was killed in action in France.

Unfortunately, Edward’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
