Son of William George and Mary Jane (nee TOMKINS) BODSWORTH); husband of Evelyn Mary (nee COLLINGS) BODSWORTH.
His parents married 1891 in the Newport Pagnell, Bucks, district. William died 1954 in Watford aged 83, and was buried 6 January in North Watford Cemetery; Mary died 6 February 1954 in Watford aged 82, and was buried 10 February, also in North Watford Cemetery.
Charles was born 27 June 1894 in Bow Brickhill, Bucks. He attended first Callow Land Infants’ School, Watford; then Callowland Board School from 1 January 1901 to 3 July 1908. In April 1906 he was awarded a watch for six year’s perfect attendance at Callowland Boys’ School. He married 29 December 1917 at Christ Church, Watford. He resided in Watford. Evelyn remarried 23 August 1924 at Christ Church, Watford, to George Thomas BEASLEY. She died 1934 in Watford aged 38, and was buried 9 January in North Watford Cemetery.
On the 1901 Census, aged 6 he lived in Watford, with his parents and two siblings. On the 1911 Census, a labourer aged 16, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and three siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Bedford, and was formerly Private 6020 Lincolnshire Regiment. He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died of accidental wounds.

Unfortunately, Charles’ Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
There is an In Memoriam for Charles in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 22 February 1919.
