Son of Sarah (nee BANDY) WHITE of Watford.
Henry John BANDY was born 1885 in Flamstead, Herts, and baptised 10 January 1886 at Holy Trinity, Flamstead. He resided in Watford.
His mother married Henry William WHITE 20 November 1886 at Holy Trinity, Flamstead. Henry died 1926 in Watford aged 67, and was buried 13 September in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Sarah died 16 November 1942 in Watford aged 84, and was buried 16 November, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
On the 1891 Census, a scholar aged 5 he lived in Flamstead, with his mother, step-father and two siblings. On the 1901 Census, a ploughboy on a farm aged 15, he still lived in Flamstead, with his mother, step-father and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, a bricklayer’s labourer aged 26, he still lived in Flamstead, with his mother, step-father and four siblings.
Officially recorded as born in Tring and was living in Watford when he enlisted in Warrington, Lancs.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Warrington, Lancs; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914 Star medals, his qualifying date being 8 November 1914, and was killed in action.
