Joined Navy 1 Sep 1890 as 2nd Lieutenant Royal Marines Light Infantry attending Royal Naval College 1890 to 1891 and afterwards serving at various shore establishments including Chatham.
He transferred to Army Service Corps on 1 Oct 1894 becoming Lieutenant 1 Oct 1894.
Wartime Service
Following the outbreak of WW1 he was appointed as Officer Commanding 12 Battery 5th London Brigade RFA.
He was diagnosed with Vascular Heart Disease being treated at Queen Alexandra’s, Millbank between 19 Dec 1914 to 7 Apr 1915 and later died 25 Aug 1915.
