Edward George was born 1894 in Frogmore, Park Street to George Hornett, an agricultural labourer, and Tyrphena (nee Harris).
On the 1901 census his parents were living at Bury Dell Lane Frogmore with William (born1891), Edward, Charles (born 1896), John (born 1898) and Mabel (born 1899). Also present was Alfred Hornett (brother to father). On the 1911 Census the family consisting of parents, William, Edward, Charles, John, Arthur (born 1903) and Thomas (born 1907) were living at 62 Frogmore Place.
Wartime Service
Edward volunteered in Jan 1915 joining the Hertfordshire Regiment as Private 4489. No Service Records were found for Edward.
He went France on 17 Aug 1915, following his training, to join 1st Battalion in the field. In Aug/Sep 1916 the Battalion were in the Bethune/Cuinchy area and Edward was wounded. He was evacuated to England and died from his wounds in Northampton General Hospital on 6 Sep 1916

War Gratuity of £7 and arrears of £10 9s 4d was paid to his mother.
