Biography

George Reynolds was born in 1885 at Piddington in Oxfordshire. He was first identified in the 1911 Census, at the age of 26, living as a Boarder with Frank and Annie Reynolds and their three children at 3 Asylum Road, Abbots Langley. It is not known if George was related to Frank, although it is highly likely as both men were born at Piddington, however no relationship has been discovered. In 1911 three other men were listed as Boarders at the family’s five roomed house.

In 1911 George was employed by a Railway Contractor and worked as a Labourer, as did Frank, two of his sons, and the other three Boarders.

George was first recorded in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in September 1916, serving with 10th Battalion of the Essex Regiment.

George survived the War.
