Biography

At the time of the 1911 Census Charles Harvey was a Boarder at the home of Alick and Katie Button who lived at the High Street, Kings Langley. Alick was an Unemployed Solicitor.

Charles was born at Petherton in Somerset in the winter of 1878. He was one of three sons born to Walter and Helen Harvey. In the 1881 Census the family was recorded living at Elizabeth House, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, and in 1901 they had re-located to 36 Canning Road, Croydon.

Walter was a Physician and Surgeon, and Charles followed him into the medical profession. In 1911 he worked as a Medical Practioner, and in July 1917 the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour listed him for the first time serving, with the Royal Army Medical Corps. It is not known if he had moved to Abbots Langley by the time of the War, however he was recorded in the Parish records throughout the conflict.

Charles Harvey survived the War.
