Biography

Ernest Green was recorded for the first time in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in October 1914, serving with the Bedfordshire Regiment. He was listed in the Magazine until January 1916, but from there through to the end of the War he was not recorded again.

A Mr Green was listed in the 1911 Census, living at Hunton Bridge Farm, close to the “Dog and Partridge” Public House, where the Census Summary Record recorded one male and two females residing at the property. It is uncertain if this man was Ernest Green. An Ernest Green has not been identified in the Langleybury records.

It is presumed that Ernest Green survived the Great War.
