Biography

Arthur Baldwin was born in 1870 at Hunton Bridge. He was one of seven children (three sons and four daughters) born to Thomas and Sarah Baldwin. In the 1871 Census Thomas was recorded working as a Garden Labourer and the family was living at Hunton Lane, Hunton Bridge. By the time of the 1880 Census the family had moved to Bedmond, and Thomas was employed as a Labourer on the Railway, and Sarah worked as a Straw Plaiter.

No further records have been found for this family, however at the end of the Great War Arthur Baldwin was included in the Langleybury Roll of Honour and was recorded serving with the rank of Private in the Army Service Corps. He was not recorded in the Abbots Langley Parish records. However he is included in the Abbots Langley list, having lived at Bedmond.

Arthur Baldwin survived the War.
