Biography

Robert Stevens was recorded for the first time in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in September 1915 serving with the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). In the final Roll of Honour listing in December 1918 he was listed serving with the Royal Air Force (RAF). On 1st April 1918 the RNAS and the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) had amalgamated to create the Royal Air Force.

Robert was listed in the Absent Voter Records for Autumn 1918 and Spring 1919. He was recorded serving as an Aircraftman 1st Class with the RAF at Roehampton, and gave his address at Notley Croft, Bedmond.

No other records for this man have been identified. It is likely that John Stevens who also served, was his brother. John gave his home address as Bedmond in the Absent Voter Records.
