Biography
Hedley Pudden was born in the winter of 1900 at Hornsey. He was one of three children (two sons and a daughter) born to George and Mary Pudden. In the 1901 Census the family was recorded living at 54 Marlin Square, Abbots Langley. George was employed as a School-master. By the time of the 1911 Census the family lived at “Rosebank”, Abbots Road, Abbots Langley. The Census confirmed that George was employed by the St Pancras Board of Governors as a School-master, at the St Pancras School in Asylum Road.
Hedley was recorded for the first time in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in September 1918, serving with the Royal Air Force (RAF). He served with the RAF until the end of the War.
