Biography
Samuel Lloyd was listed in the Asylum Roll of Honour which was printed in the Hertfordshire Advertiser on 17th October 1914. He worked as a Kitchen Man at the Asylum and was recorded in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour for the first time in November 1914, serving with the 6th Battalion of the Bedfordshire Regiment. His Medal Roll noted that he was sent to France on 30th July 1915. The Parish Magazine continued to list Samuel throughout the War still serving with the 6th Bedford’s.
He was recorded in the Autumn 1918 and Spring 1919 Absent Voter Records, serving with the 112th Labour Corps, and living at 72 Marlin Square, Abbots Langley. Samuel was discharged on 10th February 1919. No other information has been found about this man.
Samuel Lloyd survived the War.
