Biography

Alec Jenkinson was first recorded in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in November 1917, serving with the Royal Navy. The January 1918 issue of the Parish Magazine listed Alec serving with the Royal Marine Artillery (RMA), and he continued with this unit through to the end of the War. Alec’s association with Abbots Langley is unclear as Census records have not been traced for the Jenkinson family.

However he was recorded in the Absent Voter Records for Autumn 1918, Spring 1919 and Autumn 1919, serving as a Gunner with the RMA, and living at Railway Terrace, Abbots Langley.

Alec was also listed in the 1922 and 1926 Kelly’s Directory living at “Leaside”, Abbots Road, Abbots Langley.

Alec Jenkinson survived the War.
