Biography
Seth Denchfield was recorded in the Leavesden Parish Magazine in December 1914. It was noted that he was living at Tanners Hill, Abbots Langley, was employed as a Stoker at the Leavesden Asylum, and had joined His Majesty’s Forces.
Seth’s Medal Roll recorded that he had served with the 47th London Divisional Artillery Column of the Royal Field Artillery.
He was born in 1881 at Wing in Buckinghamshire. He was married in 1908, and by the time of the 1911 Census the couple had two children (both born at Abbots Langley) and lived at 8 Asylum Cottages (Tanners Hill today). The Census recorded that Seth was employed as an Attendant on the Insane at the Asylum
