Biography

Benjamin Busby was recorded in the February 1917 Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour serving with the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). He was recorded with the RFC, and later with the RAF after its formation in April 1918, through to the end of the War. He was listed in the Autumn 1918 and Spring 1919 Absent Voter Records, living at the High Street, Abbots Langley, and serving as a Sergeant Mechanic with the RAF.

Benjamin Busby was born in the summer of 1888 at Abbots Langley. In the 1891 Census the Busby family lived in the High Street, Abbots Langley. Homer and Ann Busby had three children, Benjamin, Mary and Grace. Homer worked as a Builder, and in the 1911 Census the Busby’s lived at a private house in the High Street, next to Mr Simons’ Shop. In the 1912 Kelly’s Directory Homer Busby was registered as a Builder and Undertaker.

Benjamin Busby survived the War.
