Biography

The following text was transcribed from The Edmundian (1814-1819) – The contemporary magazine of St Edmund’s College:

Reginald Hughes was a student at St. Edmund's for about four years 1901-1905. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force, and went to France with the 1st Brigade. On December 21st of last year he was wounded, and died two days later, aged 26. It is some. consolation to learn that he received the Church's last rites, and that he was laid to rest in. the Catholic Cemetery at Baillieul.
