Frank Campion PARKER was born in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, in 1892, son of John Campion Parker a Domestic Gardener and Sarah Parker (nee Jones). The youngest of seven children. His mother Sarah Parker, died in 1896, aged 42.


1901 Census records Frank aged 9, living with his widowed father, sister Amy (13) and brother Cecil (11), at The Gardeners Lodge, Broxbournebury Mansion, Park Lane, Broxbourne, Herts. They have a liv-in housekeeper widow Rosa Jones.


1911 Census records Frank (19), working as a Gardeners Assistant, living with his widowed father and sister Amy, at The Gardens, High Leigh, Hoddesdon, Herts.

Wartime Service

We believe Frank served with the 12th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment, issued with the service number 29471, believed to have been killed in Action on 22nd October 1918. This information was found on his and his brother Cecil’s joint Pension Record Card. No Pension was recorded as being awarded to his father. His fathers address on the Pension Record Card was, The Gardens, Woodcock Lodge, Little Berkhamsted, Herts.


No military records or CWGC records were found for Frank Campion Parker, other than the Pension Record card.

Additional Information

His elder brother Private 265699 Cecil Henry Parker, of the 1st Battalion, Hertfordshire Regiment, was Killed in Action on 23rd July 1916.
