HisHis mother Sarah Ann Smith received a dependents pension of 7/2, a week for life, her address was 12, Brownlow Road, Boreham Wood, Herts, she also received his effects of £9-19s-10d, Pay Owing and his War Gratuity of £21-10s-00. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) lists George as the son of Mr. L. Smith, of 12, Baunlow Rd., Boscham Wood, Elstree, Essex. We believe this address should be 12, Brownlow Road, Borehamwood, Elstree, Herts. The Mr. L. Smith is possible a typing error, we believe he is the son of George and Sarah Ann Smith. He had a brother Leonard and some correspondence to the CWGC could have come from his brother.
