Currently we have insufficient information to positively identify this soldier. The St Albans Cathedral Diocese records give his name as Leslie Roberts, suggest a connection to Harpenden and that he was a Private in the Labour Corps. The latter is confirmed on one of the Harpenden memorials, but the other gives the Middlesex Regiment. Both could be true as the man may have been transferred to the Labour Corps as unfit for war duties.
