Pre War

Born on 20 May 1894 in Ware, Hertfordshire and christened on 5 Aug 1894 in Bengeo son of Charles and Mary Hollowood. He was living in Tottenham in 1901 and in 1911 when he was an apprentice to a dental mechanic. He was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Enlisted as Private at Whitehall, London on 26 Jan 1915, entered France on 17 Nov 1915. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head on 20 Feb 1916 but survived to be promoted to Lance Corporal on 29 Jul 1916 and to Sergeant on 28 Oct 1916. He suffered appendicitis on 23 Jan 1917 and returned home for an operation. He returned to France on 12 Jul 1917 and was killed in action in France.
