Born on 13 Nov 1884 and baptised on 3 Jan 1885 in Fulham, London son of Bernard and Katherine Susan Jacomb (Hood) Dale later of Wimbledon, Surrey. Educated at Haileybury College 1900-02. He married Irene Rose Mawer on 1 Mar 1917 in Wimbledon Parish Church and lived in 71 Cottenham Park Road, Wimbledon.
