Born on 27 Aug 1893 in Skene, Aberdeenshire son of Douglas Charles and Helen Louisa Hodgson (Murray) Abercromby.


Educated at Haileybury College 1907-10. He had left the UK on the Kronprinzessin from Southampton and arrived in New York on 29 Jan 1913. He lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA and worked for the Railroad Company.

Wartime Service

He was returning to England on the Lusitania in order to join the Army when she was torpedoed by German U-Boat U21.


He was drowned, and his body was recovered. He was probably buried in a mass grave in the Old Church Cemetery, Cobh, Co Cork, Ireland.
