Pre War
Percival was the son of Charles & Sarah Kitchener, a local Grocer, of the Post Office Stores, Benington.
He married Mary Ann May Pearman in the Summer of 1911 and prior to joining the Army worked as a Carpenter.
Wartime Service
He was killed when his Battalion relieved American troops near the town of Kemmel and is buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, Belgium.

Percival is also commemorated on the family headstone in Benington (St. Peter) Churchyard, his part of the inscription reads:
". . . ALSO PTE. PERCIVAL JOHN KITCHENER SON OF THE ABOVE DIED IN ACTION IN FRANCE AUGUST 18TH 1918 AGED 33 YEARS
