Born in 1872 in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire and baptised on 7 Apr 1872 in Hoddesdon son of James and Mary Knightley and living in Howlands Farm, Hatfield Hyde in 1881. He married Elizabeth Murphy in 1890 in Hertford and they lived in 43 Cromwell Road, Hertford in 1911 with 8 children. He was a general labourer.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford formerly 7237 Bedfordshire Regiment and was killed in action.
