Born 27/08/1881 in Nuthampstead, Nr Barkway lived with parents Ralph and Rebecca, brothers Ralph, Stanley and Francis and sisters Kate & Eva. Married Ellen Ives in 1908 in Weymouth and lived at 44 Landguard End Road, Eastney, Portsmouth. Was working locally as a labourer. His family had moved to 26 South Street, Stanstead Abbotts.
