Born on 31 Dec 1898 in Dover Court, Suffolk son of Mrs I. F. Bockett-Pugh. Educated at United Services College and Imperial Service College 1910-14 and Bristol University.

Wartime Service

Initially joined the Royal Naval Air Service on 20 May 1917. Prisoner of war in Austria in 1918 and was repatriated on 29 Nov 1918. Killed in action in Iraq, shot down whilst engaged in the relief of Samawah, dropping supplies onto a defence ship on the Euphrates. Bar to his DFC (London Gazette 22 Dec 1919)

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
